イベリコブタはスペイン南西部とポルトガルの種で、オークの森で放し飼いされ、草やどんぐりを食べて育つ。イベリコブタから作られる生ハムはハモン・イベリコとしてとても有名である。イベリコブタの体は黒色のため、パタ・ネグラ（黒い脚）としても知られている。この黒いイベリコブタは通常の家畜ブタよりもかなり小さく動きもすばやい。歴史は古くローマ人がスペインに住んでいたときにはすでに飼育されていた。
Iberian pig
The Iberian pig is a pig breed of Southwestern Spain and Portugal. The animals live as
free-range pasture pigs in oak forest and feed grass, herbs and especially acorns. Its ham is the very famous Jamón Ibérico. Because the Iberian pigs are black, their ham is also known as Jamón de Pata Negra.
The black Iberian pig is much smaller and more agile than the normal domestic pigs. They were already kept by the Romans when they lived in Spain.
